Wastes & Drains
A floor waste is one of those bathroom details that barely registers during the planning stage, then becomes something you notice every day once the room is finished. At Flooring Bathrooms Interiors, we stock a range of floor waste drains in finishes and formats suited to contemporary and traditional bathrooms alike.
Getting the format and finish right matters more than people expect. A round chrome waste sitting in the middle of large-format tiles can look like an afterthought. The same space with a square matte black waste or a concealed linear drain reads very differently.
Fitting out more than just the bathroom? We also carry ceiling fans from our interiors range if you’re working through multiple rooms at once.
If you’re updating the bathroom from top to bottom, our bathroom accessories Brisbane range covers towel rails, robe hooks and soap dispensers in finishes that match your floor waste and tapware.
Types of floor waste
Shower floor wastes come in round, square, and linear formats. Round wastes are the most common and suit standard shower bases and smaller tiled areas. Square wastes sit more cleanly within tile grids and tend to look more deliberate, particularly in larger showers.
Linear drains run along one edge of the shower and suit wet room designs where tiles slope in a single direction. They work well with large-format tiles because there’s no central drain point to tile around.
Matching your floor waste to the room
The finish you choose should follow whatever you’ve decided for tapware. Matte black floor waste against white tiles is a strong contrast. Brushed nickel reads quieter and suits natural material bathrooms well. Stainless is the most versatile and the easiest to keep looking clean.
Grate design matters too. A tile-insert waste sits flush and lets the tile pattern run uninterrupted. A slotted grate has a more industrial character. Both are practical, but each reads differently depending on the tile and bathroom style.
Popular floor waste options in our range:
- Shower Floor Waste: round and square options in chrome and matte black
- Linear Floor Drain: suits large-format tiles and wet room designs
- Tile Insert Floor Waste: concealed finish that lets the tile pattern continue
- Square Floor Waste: clean, contemporary look within tile grids
Every floor waste in our range is chosen for build quality and long-term drainage performance. A grate that rattles or a drain that traps hair quickly becomes a problem, so we pay attention to the details.
